Premiered 2018 · Fruit of the Loom #SocialFilm#Campaign
A back-to-school Facebook campaign that found the funny, unfiltered things kids actually said — and hand-crocheted them into pillows for the parents who'll never forget them.
Why
Back-to-school season, and Fruit of the Loom wanted to be top of mind with parents on Facebook. Because you don't sell kids' tees and undies to kids — you sell them to the parents, especially the moms. Posterity means for the generations to come: your kids are growing up, so let's memorialize the cute things they say before another school year takes them further.
What we made
The things kids say are the things parents remember forever. So we found real phrases parents had posted online, had each one custom-crocheted into a pillow — before AI: my creative teammate built the patterns pixel by pixel, and a real crochet artist stitched every one by hand — then contacted those parents and sent the pillows on behalf of Fruit of the Loom, with back-to-school packs. The film announced it all: parents can't be prepared for everything their kids might say, but they can be prepared for the school year.
The Making Of Notes
A personal note: there was basically no budget. We shot the film at our creative director's house with the in-house Crispin Porter team — and it performed really well anyway. Years before UGC became the playbook, this was proof you don't need money to get a reaction out of people.

The Pillows
The collection — decorative hand-stitched mementos of the precious sentiments our kids bestow on us. "I'm just so in love with this bagel right now." "You have a mustache, so I'm going to bed early tonight." "Mom, you were my best friend until I actually got friends." "Dad, you have mommy lips."
